Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Our processes include:
- Lead-free HASL: Sn96.5/Ag3.0/Cu0.5, 250°C peak reflow.
- ENIG (Ni/Au): 3-5μm gold thickness for 10+ years shelf life.
The choice between 6061 and 5052 aluminum alloys depends on application priorities. 6061 offers superior mechanical strength (290 MPa yield strength) and precise machining tolerance (±0.05mm), making it ideal for automotive or aerospace systems exposed to vibration. In contrast, 5052 provides enhanced corrosion resistance, enduring 1,000+ hours in salt spray tests, and is more cost-effective for consumer electronics like LED lighting. For high-reliability industrial environments, we generally recommend 6061, while 5052 suits budget-conscious projects with moderate environmental demands.
While aluminum itself is rigid, hybrid designs combining rigid aluminum sections with flexible polyimide layers are possible. These “rigid-flex” PCBs allow:
- 90° bends at connector points (minimum 10× board thickness bend radius).
- Localized heat dissipation in wearable devices or robotics.
